Is Core Right for Me? The most important question you can ask yourself when looking for a martial arts school is this the right place for me?The purpose of our website and trial program is to help make that determination.Once your think it through, you should act decisively.
Prospective clients must understand that Core may not be right for everyone. We understand what our strengths are and where our expertise lies.We are up front about our capabilities and want our clients to know what is in store for them when enrolling with us.
What Core is:
Before we get into what Core is not, it is important to understand what Core is.Core is a place where students come together to work hard in developing tools to improve their life.We train hard and the school is very physical. We take safety as a number one priority, as we look to push our physical and psychological envelope. The diverse demographic at Core illustrates our desire to reach all types of individuals. We have an almost even 50-50 split of males and females that train at our school. Our average age ranges between 25 and 40 years-of-age and we even have some students well into their 50's.Core is a place to leave all your outside worries at the door, and reach inside yourself to feel the real sensation of personal development and achievement.
Below is a list of some of the characteristics of a student that would fit well with our program:
A student who truly wants to learn martial arts
A student that wants to be in great physical shape
A student that has a desire to enjoy their life
A student that will make a commitment to themselves to succeed and follow through
A student that wants to train hard and be pushed both physically and mentally
A student that is willing to let go of excuses
A student that is open minded, laid back, and tolerant of others
A student that does what they say they are going to do
A student wiling to let go of their ego in order to receive new information
A student that will allow antagonists a way out but will fight if there is the need
A student with the desire to improve their lives and make the necessary changes
We understand that not everyone will have all of these traits or characteristics. The most important thing is the desire to develop them.A student that lacks this desire to improve has greater problems than we can or care to assist with.
At Core we understand that your life is busy and time is precious. With all of the other activities and demands for your time, martial arts are sometimes viewed as an extra. We ask you to look around and see what other types of activities and exercise can provide you with as many positive benefits as martial arts.
What Core is not: Core is not a place to feed a fragile ego by hurting other people. We are not in the business of fostering attitudes of people with the intent of making personal gains through the misfortunes of others. We encourage people to eliminate the need for judging others by having good energy and a positive accepting attitude.
We are not a school that will just move you through the ranks. We see a black belt as a significant life accomplishment. We feel that rank needs to be earned and everyone has the ability to do a great job if they apply themselves.
